Following the Year 1 - Year 6 visit to Dove Cottage in Grasmere and our poetry workshops back at school led by staff from the Wordsworth Trust, we were inspired to become poets too.

All children wrote poems based around the theme of inclusion and diversity and 1 per class were entered into 'The Lakeland Book of the Year' poetry competition. 

We were delighted that Jacob Wilson from Year 6 won first prize with his poem 'Recipe for a diverse society'. He is very excited to attend the awards ceremony to recite his winning poem and collect his prize in a few weeks' time.
