Welcome toShap CE Primary SchoolA Safe Branch from which to Soar

SCHOOL WILL BE CLOSED ON WEDNESDAY 12 FEBRUARY

I have just received this update from Dan Barton (Assistant Director) at the Local Authority:

"I’m writing with a further update to the situation regarding water supply to schools, in those areas affected, or potentially affected, by the damaged water main.
We have been working closely with our colleagues in the police, fire and rescue and United Utilities (UU) who have themselves been working overnight to resolve the issue under very trying circumstances. What follows is based on the best information available from UU at the current time, and will be the basis upon which any subsequent school closures are directed. There will always be a chance that the information we are using to identify vulnerable schools is inaccurate, but we must take the information available to us, and make decisions which carefully weigh the risks.
As at 3pm today, Shap School (and a further 13 schools) will not have water supply tomorrow, and will unlikely have water supply on Thursday either or whose supply is likely to be compromised in some way."

Shap School will therefore remain closed tomorrow: Wednesday 12th February.

We will contact families on Wednesday 12th February to decide on arrangements for Thursday13th February once information has been clarified.
