World Book Day Competition

We celebrated World Book Day on Thursday 03 March! Continuing our aim of promoting a love of books, shared reading and reading for pleasure!

The children came dressed as favourite book characters ranging from Harry Potter to Captain America, or in their coziest 'PJ's' , ready to share stories and review and chat about their favourite books!

We even learned about Ruth and Fajita's favourite books in Worship Time!

Children will be bringing home their World Book Day book token, offering every child the opportunity to buy a book of their own.

The highlight of the day was our exciting competition... to design and create a Potato book character, the entries were amazing, and Mrs Turner had a hard job choosing the winners! However, winning a £5 token each, the winners are:

  • Bethany Burke in Catbells for Mr Happy
  • Penny in Kidsty Pike for Paddington
  • Leah in Blencathra for her Pig
  • Oscar in Helvellyn for Captain Underpants
