STEM Day at Lowther Primary
Shap KS2 visited Lowther Primary School to share in a STEM Day (science, technology, engineering and maths). We started off the day by being set a design and engineering task. We had to help an elderly man called Tom, who found it difficult to do buttons up because his fingers were stiff and sore. We had to create a device to help him with different clothes fastenings. We had a range of different materials and you can see some of our designs and inventions below.
We then had a company visit who taught us how to code some robots to move in different ways. We created robots using the loge type construction equipment. We then had to choose a maze and programme our robot to move around the lines of the maze. We then made it start and stop using colour sensors.
